The 401kWire to Name the Most
Influential
Advisors in Defined Contribution
Currently,
identifying the top Defined Contribution (DC) advisors
is more of an art than a science.
Various constituents
including record keepers, broker dealers, investment
only providers (IO’s), TPA’s, and even database/media
companies have their own lists, but none can claim to be
definitive.
Leveraging on their industry accepted three year old
100 Most Influential People in
Defined Contribution
and last year’s successful launch of the
300 Most Influential Advisors in
Defined Contribution,
The 401kWire is starting the process of creating the
2010 list.
Last year, The
401kWire received great support from most of the DC industry
with almost 2,000 advisors nominated and over 75,000 votes
cast.
Advisors who made the List
used it to their advantage in marketing and sales
presentations, as more sponsors were able to identify the
true experts.
The process is
quite simple.
First,
all members of the DC community including providers,
advisors, TPA’s, broker dealers, and plan sponsors can
nominate
as many advisors or advisor teams as they deem worthy.
Second,
nominees will be sent a link to a unique site which is
available only to that advisor to register information about
their individual or team practice.
Finally,
this information will be used to give voters insight into
whether they think that the advisor or team is influential
or not.
The top 40 DC advisors will be
determined by industry voting with 10 from each of the
following markets:
-
Micro - <$5 million
-
Small - $5-$15 million
-
Mid - $15-$75 million
-
Large +$75 million
The importance of this list cannot be over emphasized.
Sponsors need to be able to reliably identify the
true experts that they should hire to help them and their
employees be more successful in retirement.
The 401kWire is the best and most unbiased company to
create this list as they are supported primarily by
subscription, with no advertising which could cause them to
be swayed. All
qualified advisors will be considered.
Advisors can be nominated at
www.401kWireAdvisors.com/Nominations.aspx
– a spreadsheet can be downloaded to nominate multiple
advisors in a single step with only basic contact
information required. The
Top 300 Advisors
will be honored at the
DCP Institute to
be held December 8-10, 2010 at The Breakers in Palm Beach
Florida, where the Top 40 Advisors will be named.
